Tour Description
Join us on our ferry from Perth's Barrack Street Jetty to and from Rottnest Island for the day. Our comfortable fleet of ferries will cruise you down the Swan River to begin the ocean crossing to Rottnest Island. On arrival, you are free to explore the island at your leisure. Discover the history of the island, swim and snorkel on the beaches and encounter the local wildlife, on your island day out.
The main settlement of Thompson's Bay is home to an interesting array of buildings and monuments which tell the history of the island and it's inhabitants. Take a self-guided walk, or join one of the free Introductory Walking Tours that are conducted daily on the island at 2pm. Join the tour at the "Meeting Post" near the base of the jetty.
There are public transport buses that run loops around the island all day which can help you get to and from some of the more remote locations for a small fee.
Rottnest Island operates on peddle-power. With no cars on the island, all transport is either by bus, or bicycle. If you would like to include bike hire in your booking, please see the alternative tour here.
Rottnest Island may be famous for it's cute and furry Quokkas but there are also colonies of seals and seal lions that call the island home. During the whale migratory season (Sept to Nov) you may be lucky to catch these majestic animals as they pass by close to shore.
Looking to add a bit of extra action to your day? Why not consider adding Snorkel Equipment Hire to your booking? Spend time snorkelling in one of the many coves and bays of the island where an abundance of ocean life will surprise you.
Once you've had your fill of island life, head back to the Jetty to board your ferry back to Perth, where you'll arrive around 6.45pm to end your day.
